
Jan Longmire has become synonymous with glamour and unmatched couture construction. A serious costumer with a powerful and unique vision, Jan takes her love of color, texture, and the magic of exquisite detailing, and combines it with a devotion to the beautiful sport and art of figure skating.
With her first major arena costume debut at the Sarajevo Olympics in 1984, Jan has continued to delight skaters, judges, and audiences for twenty-five years. She constantly strives to develop her skills and evolve as a designer and technician. Jan’s designs for Stars on Ice headliner Sasha Cohen have met with glowing reviews.
Jan Longmire costumes are meticulously constructed using hand dyed fabrics. The decoration is an artistic blend of Swarovski crystal, Czech glass beads, and an assortment of variously shaped sequins in dozens of sizes and colors, both glittering metallic and iridescent.
Special attention is always given to musical and choreographic concerns and Jan has worked with coaches in all disciplines to present their skaters advantageously and with unforgettable impact. Jan’s studio is based in Huntington Beach, California, though she continues to accept international clients from around the globe, always delivering marvelous one of a kind designs.
